Group Visits

Our friendly staff and volunteers have over 15 years’ experience of tailoring visits to your requirements, welcoming your guests to the Royal Gunpowder Mills and ensuring that the visit is a great one.

Group bookings can be made at any time of year, subject to availability.

Ideal for a one-day or half-day visit, we are a short distance from historic Waltham Abbey church and gardens, white water rafting, the beautiful Lee Valley walks and waterways, shops and restaurants. We can recommend nearby locations to complete your customers’ experience of a great day out.

Activities

We have some amazing abandoned architecture, fascinating exhibitions, and informative tours to keep you busy on your big day out. When visiting with your group, you will get:

  • A Guided Tour of the out-of-bounds areas of our 170-acre site on our tractor-trailer.

  • Refreshments of tea/coffee and biscuits are available. You can also pre-book a lunch from one of our local eateries and arrange for it to be delivered to our café. Please ask for more information and a list of local establishments that we use if required.

  • A trip on The Gunpowder Railway, a narrow gauge railway running roughly 1 km along the perimeter of the Royal Gunpowder Mills site (trip takes approx. 30 minutes - allow 40 minutes) (available on selected days only)
